CLASS EXPECTATIONS

In addition to the guidelines in the student handbook the following applies.

ATTENDANCE

1.- You are expected to be in your seat with your materials and ready to work when the bell rings. if you are not, you will be counted tardy ,

2.- Pink slips coming to you during class do not automatically excuse you. No one may leave during a test or quiz,

and I alone will be the judge of whether you should miss part of the class.

CLASSROOM

1.- Students are expected to be quiet, attentive and respectful when I am explaining any material.

2.- Students are expected to bring daily their own calculator, pencil, paper and books. NO ONE will be

      allowed to go to the locker after the class has begun.

3.- No chewing gum, eating or drinking is allowed.

4.- Homework and tests must be done neatly in pencil.

HOMEWORK

1.-Homework will be assigned daily. Students are required to complete each assignment prior to the next class

and then ask questions over those problems they found difficult or did not understand.

2.- It must be done neatly on standard paper to be accepted. Answers only won't be accepted.

3.- It is the responsibility of the students to obtain and make up all the work missed during any absence.

4.- Homework will be collected for grading the day of the test. Late homework is unacceptable.

GRADING

1.- Selected problems from the homework will be graded for correctness and completeness.

Homework and participation in class will count 10 points maximum in each test.

2.- There will be at least 6 major tests during each nine week period.

3.-For excused absences make up tests will be given the next class or at 7:00 A.M on the day following the test.

Only under special circumstances make-ups will be given at any other time.

4.- Semester averages will be obtained by using 20% of the semester examination, 40% of the

      first nine weeks grade, and 40% of the second nine weeks grade.

I have received the class expectations. I have shared this information with my parents.

I understand that I am expected to retain my copy of these expectations in my binder for future reference.

Furthermore, this information has been discussed in the classroom.
