You story was a trip back in time to my past. I, too, grew up in Schuylkill Haven, a bit before you. I keep up with what's happening there by reading The Call. I have researched quite a few of the old families of Sch. Co. and thereby learned a lot about its history and people. Thanks for the memories.

Cool, needs some work, like the requirement to h-scroll across the text. Another area of interest that you haven't addressed (at least I haven't bumped into it) is Texas Instruments computers and the programs you wrote. . . That would be an interesting h
t for a search engine. But cool overall cool . . . "To know you is to Surf you", perhaps I'll pitch some ideas at you on this page.

Tom....
Good start. I like the info on the Lock Tender position. That is something I never considered.
How about sending me some more history on the canal and how it operated? My dad used to take me to a place along the river where the lock frames were still visible. Other than that and knowing that Parkway used to be the canal and Dock Street's name was
bvious (but I don't know where the docks were). Any books available?
Sorry I got so wordy here..Should have used e-mail
