As the year still begins plus we get the first Black President of the United States comes into office and gas prices goes back up I really starting to show signs that I really want to get out of my current job. I have been with my job since September 2006. I love helping people that come into the store but the people that I work with are starting to get on my nerves. I cannot stand working with people that are immature and not intelligent. It is like working with children that do not have an idea what to do. The competition store in the other side of town have people that know what they are doing plus that store makes a lot more business compare to my job. Too bad I can’t work with that company due to the fact that they are bias on my job. It is a threat to them since it is own by a major big company in which it ruin small family businesses.

That is not the only main reason that I want to leave my job. It is also that I am unhappy with the directions on which it is going. The company has lost a lot of people that shop there within the past few months and years including managers and associates coming and going. It is too stressful for me since I am trying hard to finish college at the same time. It has taken a toll in my life including the friends and family that need me the most. I have miss celebrations and losses in my life. It just not the same as it was in the beginning. I could be somewhere that I have knowledge in which I have taken in college. This current job that I have I got experience in but it is not the one that I want the most out of life. I want to get out of a job that has no direction plus I feel that I already accomplish in which that does not get any higher in the business.

I have been working since November 1999. My first job was working with Personal Electronics (radios, CD players, and telephones) in a pre-Best Buy store in which they went out of business in 2003. The job only paid me in commission in which I had to sale a product with a high cost plus to persuade people to get the extended service plan with it. I was let go of the job on New Years Eve but was rehire in February 2000. In a few months after I got rehire I was promoted to Video Electronics Department in April. I was dealing with customers to buy a television, cameras, VCRs, and DVD players with extended service plans. I had a hard time selling which did not sit well with my manager at the time. Whenever I had my co-workers help me out with a sales they took the credit for in which I totally dislike, and it made me extremely upset. I lasted at that job until August 2000.

It took me six months to get my second job at a clothing store in which was the prelude to Kohl’s. I started out in customer services then was promoted to jewelry department within a year and a half. This job was only harsh on getting people in applying for a store credit card. I manage to get ten people per day to get them to apply for a card. As the months gone by the people that I got to apply for the card shrank plus I was not getting paid a whole lot. Each yearly evaluation was only raise up little. From the beginning when I started until the end I only got got a raise from two dollars more. I I lasted at that job for five and a half years.

How I got my current job was that someone from that store was representing at my college to recruit people to apply there. I was told that I would get paid much better than the current job that I had at that time plus great benefits in which I needed badly. Within three-four after that meeting I got hired and I am still there as we speak. I do more departments at that job compare to others that work there. From the beginning of employment and now I got a raise of two dollars within two years. That is a lot quicker compare to my previous job in which it took five years to make two dollars more than what I got in the beginning.

My two past jobs in have gone out of business since I left them. It would be funny if this current job goes out as well if I was to leave them. It is like a curse that I been casting on them. Within two years when I leave them they go out of business. Hopefully I will be able to find a better job in which I’ll be happy. A job that will expand my horizon and allow me to move up.
