The Decaying of United States Air Power

The Department of Defense is making some very BIG mistakes. These mistakes will end the United States' reign of air superiority. In September of 2001, the DoD will be making their decision on who gets the contract for the Joint Strike Fighter. The two companies competing for the contract are Boeing and Lockheed Martin. These companies are the two leaders in military aircraft development. When the DoD makes their decision, they will be making the stupidest mistake of their lives. The production of the JSF will cause a huge downfall in all branches of the US military, the Air Force being the most greatly affected. When the JSF comes into production, it will be replacing ALL variants of our current successful aircraft such as the F-14, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, A-6 and worst of all, the A-10, the most successful attack aircraft ever developed. By removing all these aircraft, they will be throwing away the billions of dollars that WE THE TAX PAYERS supplied to them for the development of armament for the current aircraft because the JSF is incapable of carrying most to ALL of these weapons due to the fact that both variants (X-32 from Boeing and the X-35 from Lockheed Martin) have all internal hardpoints.
