At Muncie IN we visited the

National Model Aviation Museum 

 

Hundreds of flying models are on display at this headquarters for the Academy of Model Aeronautics.

   

A recent visit to Tallmadge OH included this rally of some of those flying models.

 Don owned one of the surplus real things back in the 1950s and flew it in Ohio and Pennsylvania.  This plane was used to train more U. S. Army Air Corps and U. S. Army Air Force pilots than any other plane.  It was also used by Norway, and Canada, as well as by other British Commonwealth nations.  The PT-19 was fully aerobatic capable except for outside loops.
