The Wild Turkey

30ft Flybridge Sport Fisherman

225hp Mercruiser Inboard

The Wild Turkey was given to me by the next door neighbor of a friend of mine. When I first saw the boat it was sunk and sitting on the bottom. Though submerged, the water didn't cover the lower helm station and I was able to pump it out and refloat it that afternoon. As the level of the water dropped I noticed that more water was coming in through the engine. A mechanic had removed the spark plugs and the water had come in through the exhaust after a torrential downpour. Though the owner had tried to refloat the boat several times it always sank again within a day. He gave it to me to get it removed from his dock to make room for his new boat. I used this boat to gain the required sea service time to obtain my captain's license. The picture was taken at Riviera Beach, Fl. 1985 and she was sold shortly afterward.
