My name is Paul Toth...

I am living in the city of Kitchener, Ont., Canada, close to the Waterloo Regional Airport and VOR/DME beacon YWT (N43,27/ W80,23). Most of my free time I am spending either at my listening post or at my favored place - Toronto Int'l Airport watching planes.

Time to time I do QSL-ing as well. It is truly interesting part of my aeronautical monitoring activities, I say it is The Cream of the DX-ing. In the appreciation among those great guys who responded on my QSL request, to name just a few because of space limitation. Cpt. Jaques J. Chemin, Air France's top rank B747 instructor pilot sent along with a signed QSL card and personal letter also a large photograph showing his 747-400 turning base leg at Hong-Kong's Kai-Tak Int'l Airpot. He responded from his Pacific flight AFR279 PPT to TYO. From Lufthansa's Cpt. Georg Schmidt I've also received a signed QSL card along with personal letter and a bundle of charts depicting entire routing of his flight LH572 (B747-400) from FRA to JNB. Cpt. Julien Cesar Alvaro of Aerolineas Argentinas writes in his letter: "We are well aware of the important task you are doing over the radio...when flying in night, in the middle of nowhere it is good to know you are there... just for case". He responded from his flight ARG1385 (A310-300) LAX-LIM-BUE. Once again many thanks to all of you who responded on my QSL request for your time to write in.

The Equipment...

My receiving equipment include a NRD525, Sangean ATS 803A, Icom IC-R7100, PRO2005, Netset 46 and Patrolman 2026. My HF antennas include 75ft Windom, single dipole cut to 9.0Mhz and 102" vertical CB antenna ( also works very well on HF bands ). For VHF/UHF reception I use an excellent 1/4 wave GP Nevada and Tandy 800Mhz GP.

The Pages...

Long time ago I had a nice dream that I've got my own Web site on the Internet. Today I can say my dream came true. This site is devoted to the Aeronautical Monitoring and to the best commercial aircraft ever made - Boeing 747.

WELCOME actually just an entry gate to this Web site sporting a motto from an excellent article about Boeing 747 writen by Polar Air's Captain Mr.William S. Adler.
