NEW YORK STATE '98

F.S.N.Y.

New York State is now FS 98 compatible!!

This project began back in the FS 5.1 days. Since the default scenery lacked most airports, I wanted to have my home base of Cortland County - Chase Field (N03) depicted. This is how I began with scenery design. After creating Cortland, the scenery expanded to include other airports that I've been too. Since there was still no definitive New York scenery available on the web, I again expanded the project to include Central New York.

Once Abacus© released Airport and Scenery Designer® (ASD) I began work on the State of New York. Originally geared for FS 5.1 and '95,this scenery is now tweaked and updated to take advantage of FS98's features...and is always being improved!

ASD 2.0 has finally arrived! I am currently working on the state of New Hampshire as a "warm up" for the next edition of N.Y. I'll try to post some screenshots as time permits! If you would like to be a part of this project, feel free to contact me with the E-mail link below!

Due to some computer problems, completely unrelated to Y2K, I have lost all my files of current projects! Re-construction has began, but will delay release of any files for some time. Please contact me if you would like more information!

NOTAM: I have recently moved to Sanford, Florida to attend Comair Aviation Academy. I will try to keep the pages current, as time permits!! If you have any information regarding aviation in NYS, please let me know, and I'll post it here!

7/23/98-Last military flights depart from Griffiss AFB, Rome, N.Y.
7/30/98-Air Canada announces plans to begin service to Hancock Airport in Syracuse (SYR).
7/31/98-Air Tran announces they will be leaving SYR, Delta Express announces plans to expand SYR operations.
8/3/98-Sidney Muni. (N23) to undergo re-paving of runways and taxiways in conjunction with removal of underground fuel tanks.
8/11/98-Onondoga County still debating on replacing the "AIR ONE" helicopter.
8/11/98-Binghamton (BGM) Customs office opens on field.
8/31/98-Cortland Co. (N03) currently undergoing fuel system renovations.
9/20/98-Fuel renovations Complete!
12/11/98-US Airways begins direct service from SYR to Toronto Center City Airport.
2/5/99-Agreement reached for "Griffiss AFB/MEA" to be site of the "woodstock '99" concert.
2/16/99-Navy hands "Operation Deep Freeze," the supply mission to McMurdo Station, Antarctica over to the 109th AW stationed in Schenectady, NY.
8/16/99-US Airways Metrojet to begin daily service between Orlando International (MCO) and Syracuse (SYR).
