First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to come visit my homepage. I hope that you enjoyed your stay here, and that you found something of interest to to you. However, I thought a little bit of information about myself might be fun for a few of you.
I am 22 years old, and live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I work at a local appliance store selling Whirlpool appliances, as well as doing other odds and ends around the store. I plan to return to college in the fall to finish my degree in biology, and afterwards plan to attend medical school to specialize in Epidemiology. I would love to work for the Center for Disease Control out of Atlanta; this would be an excellent opportunity to travel to different parts of the world ...something I've always wanted to do.
I enjoy reading fiction(Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Rudyard Kipling, Ellen Gilchrist, Michael Chrichton, Thomas Hardy, and Patricia Cornwell). I also enjoy nonfiction reading about the Civil War, viruses/epidemics, pyschology, and anything related to the medical field. I like poetry by Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, and Shakespeare. As far as movies go, I like a very good drama with a deep plot, or a meaningful love story.
Some of my favorite things are listening to Schubert'sAve Maria at an extremely loud volume, listening to any classical music while working around the house, writing poetry/short stories, a glass of sweet iced tea after coming in from mowing the grass on a hot day in July, sampling all of Mom's baking on Christmas Day, getting a new puppy for my birthday, sleeping in a man's flannel shirt, cuddling in front of a fireplace on a rug over a hardwood floor on a cold winter night, being silly while making faces at myself in the bathroom mirror and talking to myself as I'm getting ready for work in the morning, making snow angels, and falling down on my back in a field of freshly cut hay while making pictures out of the clouds that float overhead.
I enjoy talking with people who are intelligent, open-minded, not afraid to say what they think, and who are interested in other's opinions. All of my friends have a wonderful sense of humour, and aren't afraid to have fun. I am a very sensitive person, and sometimes take things the wrong way, which can get me into alot of arguments with people who are very close to me. I tend to laugh when I'm supposed to be upset or sad...it's just something that happens without even thinking about it, and sometimes it has gotten me into some pretty embarrassing moments:)
