All projects have risk - field purchases should be <5%; if PDMS is already implemented, shld be <2.5% - chck what's the % of spare pipe being procured - designers by nature love to optimise; but designers may not look @ big picture which involves time factors - a golden rule is that if there's nothing 'wrong' with the original design, don't change it - closed drain relocation: if relocated, we have to rehazop; but some process engineers these days have autorehazop check online in brain during process equipment placement design - Morning mtg: - Re KS: Imrat mentioned at least 3 audits reqd during project - IA: give 5 pport photos, umich cert, pport pcopy to Ezny for work permit pass - KS: Ranhill award RM 200 MIL, OGPTSSB 50 MIL, BCOT KNM award: RM 32 MIL - KQ: GRE piping jointing fragile & not as tight as steel weld; RE piping not as immune to elevator knocks - KS: VCM GRE - Steel connections have had leaks before 13 Mar 2001 Re Lvl 3 schedule: Electrical final MTO early start Met Izham (mech inspector) & Ridzuan (painting & insulation inspector) 19 Mar 2001 Re: Lvl 3 sched: instrumentation final MTO early start - morning mtg: - KS: we review & appraise, not review & approve cttr dwgs & vendor docs 20 Mar 2001 Re: OGPTSSB - RECSB meeting: - closed drain piping has buried carbon steel - re: sulaiman: CPN doesn't seem fully complete - re: alias: ready but not yet frozen 21 Mar 2001 Mng mtg: - MAK: shopdwgs prepared based on protek dwgs have cable lengths short & incorrect cable glands; concern: too many errors found throughout MTO - met ahmad zamri, QA / QC inspector 23 Mar 2001 Re Lvl 3 sched: E & I procurement early start Re Lvl 3 sched: Bulk E & I RFQ / LOI / PO early start 25 Mar 2001 MLNG2 module 4 rotor replacement start 26 Mar 2001 Fedback MTO rec'd 5 Mar 2001 to Aziz & Yeo 27 mar 2001 -Gave Resak closeout report to Khazin -sent request to PCSB / MLNG3 to confirm no ICCP TRU required -informed by Hong that 16mm M6 bolts (left out in sheet 7/9 MTO) are already included in sheet 6/9 (item 5.1) of AFC MTO 28 Mar 2001 Fedback TQ 3 to Aziz & Yeo Filled up work permit & reverted with IC photos, pport pcopy & Umich cert copy 2 Apr 2001 Resak site visit (Re: Raja Zaharuddin, EE, PCSB Technical Svcs): - RESAK SC UTILISES IMPRESSED CURRENT CP - ICCP system currently causing inteference problems with neighboring EPMI tanks - Water tank in the process of being upgraded to ICCP Other EE's @ PCSB TS: Aba Yazi, Khamis Kadir, Idros Ahmad, Ismail A Bakar, Ghazali M Zain, Roden Indra, Wan Norziyati W Kadir, Feisal A Ghani, Masari Mat Terim, M Ezanee A Halim PCSB Kerteh operations GL: 09 864 0722 Syamsulflan Suffian Onn (PCSB Asset Management) advised to contact Kerteh Terminals SB staff ahmadnn@pc.jaring.my for data on Tank Bottom CP system design Resak OGT operations ctrl room staff: Azhar B Ahmad F, 09 8271833 / 8656705 Other PCSB operations staff: Basha (loctn: Petronas complex) 019 953 2806 Other Resak OGT EEs: Hj Latip Ismail, Shaime Yaakob (Re: Yusuf Embun / Musa Bidin) Received electrical subcttr ITB from Musa to review. 3 Apr 2001 Re Lvl 3 schedule: GRE pipe subcttr approval early start Received Resak monthly report sample from Azril Sent PDMS & PIAMS concern email to Zahimi & Eugene Returned parking card via Ezny Received email instruction from Rohaizad Norpiah to use sac anodes for pipe & ICCP for tank (tank constructor scope) 4 apr 2001 Send query to Protek to find request reconfirmation no CP spec in ITB Intro'd to Instr inspector Zahrin & EE Inspector Salim 5 apr 2001 Received email from RN saying CP spec doesn't exist Rec'd email from Chong Keng Yen saying CP spec exists; asked CKY for softcopy Salim mentioned grounding cable slack & jumper wire required 9 Apr 2001 Met Nurzanah of Proposal dept (RECSB) Reported that feedback on QA plan, IT infra proposal, planning package (progress weighting) has been done over the weekend. PDMS shld speed up clash check. - Re GMP: We only have the PDMS model by Protek, & 6 pple are working on the ISO re-engineering. Upon opening the PDMS, we found Civil structures clashing, & that's not even an IDC. - Re Zahimi: piling work not complete yet due to incomplete soil data. No soil resistivity either; we expect this data from OGPTSSB. Sorry, we don't have a soil res. meter to lend OGPTSSB. Soil res data was on Table of contents but not in contents (solution: leave CP design to subcttr expert: Re: Alias Anuar e-mail) - Re SI: AJ to get SI report from KS & chase SI subcttr for SR data. - Re GMP: no wind load stress calc for LP flare found - this is causing us another delay. Wind load calc mandatory for structures >10 m high & LP flare is 20 - 40 m high - SI: why don't we design the flare suport at slant then. - GMP: if we push we may make July date for ISOs by pushing out 50 dwgs oer wk. But how many fab shops can fab 50 dwgs per wk? Costing for TBE can be done based on Protek dwgs. - SI: yes but we require clachchecked AFC ISOs to answer TBE technical queries. - Zahimi: another cause for delay was that we had to manually change ISO reference #s on ISO dwgs => PDMS not fully implemented 11 apr 01 checked in @ beverly park avenue Bintulu; reported blinds not working 7.15p to Dimon. 12 Apr 2001 MTO completion date (based on ITB) Re Lvl 3 sched: Bulk E & I RFQ / LOI / PO early finish recd email of RECSB site inspector Rakesh - rakgupta_r@yahoo.com recd HP # of RECSB site staff Leonard Juan - 013 823 1098 recd fax # of RECSB bintulu fax # 082 252 576 13 Apr 2001 Re Lvl 3 sched: Bulk E & I bill of loading early start 16 Apr 2001 Re Lvl 3 schedule: Electrical MTO early finish Re Lvl 3 schedule: Instrumentation MTO early finish MLNG2 module 4 rotor replacement end 17 Apr 2001 Met inspector Azaha. Float used to mean the "the probability differences that an activity will be complete" , i.e. probabilities would mark the difference between "earlyfinish" & "late finish" But using primavera definitions, float is defined as activities not scheduled tight enough in relation to other activities. But since all Primavera activities are pending completion of others, a primavera schedule is already tight, and the early & late finish difference depends on when another dependent activity will finish for another dependent activity to start. Thus no matter how we try to compact the schedule, a project is behind, because there is only one upper bounded S curve. In other words, the only way to get ahead of the S curve is to use _variance_ of an activity period as a measure of delay potential.
