Conclusion

There is little more I can say about the experiment at this stage, except that it is ongoing - awaiting contact from anyone who purports to be a time seer. My intention at this stage is to require answers to prerequisite questions before checking any submitted string against that on the code sheet. This will be necessary in order to not waste time implementing the checking procedure for every submission - some applicants may not be genuine but simply want to have a guess at the string, and thereby waste my time.Concluding image

I am fully aware that this whole exercise may seem a little crazy to lots of people - and this may be one of the reasons why it has not been done before (as far as I am aware). However, for years I've felt that an experiment like this should be set up by someone, regardless of the ridicule it might draw from some observers. I remain skeptical that anyone will ever have the capability of comprehensive time seering at will, but I don't discount the possibility.

Photo 6. I remain skeptical but it had to be done.

Through this experiment I (or others) may one day be able to establish whether the capability does exist. I have attempted to be objective and scientific in the design of the experiment, and will post updates on this site at regular intervals - usually, I expect, stating "nothing to report" and the date.

About the Author

For the purposes of this exercise I will simply use the nom de plume 'Timelab". I am male, Australian, and self-employed as a writer and consultant. I have a number of degrees and diplomas - the most recent being a Ph.D. from Monash University. My thesis centred on mathematical modelling in educational test data analysis. I began my professional life as a physicist but then moved into education - first as a teacher then as a lecturer. I have a fair number of academic publications in the field of education and have been a farmer, inventor, freelance writer, editor, assessment specialist, and boatbuilder. I also jointly own a small black dog that likes to jump fences.

Regarding this experiment, I can be contacted by special e-mail, or you can make an entry in the new guestbook. You can also read the entries made by other visitors to the site (I've copied a few from the old guestbook - there were lots. Unfortunately, it's no longer supported by the Web host we're using).
