MOVE YOUR MIND !!

I'm convinced that the brain has great powers, and that we can use and increase them in very simple ways. Do you want to improve your ability to concentrate? Then try these exercises.

EXERCISE N.4 "LIKE A COMPUTER"

This is a training exercise: you should do it to warm up your mind!

You must count (in your mind) the series of the number 2 (2-4-6...) and of number 3 (3-6-9..) in this way: 2-3;4-6;6-9; until 66-99 or 132-198.

You must do it in the brisker way and verify at the end the result 66-99 or 132-198.

A good variation is to increase with the series of number 2 and to decrease with that of 3 in this way: 2-99;4-93;6-90...66-3.

You can also invent other versions.
The most sensation that this exercise gives is the absolute isolation from the world:

THAT'S CONCENTRATION!

EXERCISE N.3 "THE MENTAL JOURNEY"

Choose a thing, like for example a watch.

Now think about all the times that a watch has appeared in your life: when you were young, baby, the watch that you have in your room, the watch that... and so on.

Perhaps you do not recognize some mental images that appear in your memory. Actually they are in your mind but you don't know it. Was it right?

Try to do this for almost 5 minutes, also if you don't have any mental pictures try to visualize. The sensations that you should feel are: freedom, lightness, or like a bird flying. This a first step to control your mind!!

EXERCISE N.2 "THE SUN AND ITS RAYS"

....(under construction, but if you want a preview: d.attolico@trend.it)

EXERCISE N.1 "THE EYE AND THE VOICE"

Warm-up your mind! Take a pack of playing cards and, one by one, turn up the top card reciting its name aloud as you do so. If you make a mistake you must correct it immediately. Time yourself and repeat the exercise to beat your record.

NEW SCORES: pack of = a) 54 cards - b) 108 cards

good = a) 1'00" - b) 2'50"

very good = a) 35" - b) 2'05"

excellent = a) 20" - b) 45"

The difficulty of this exercise is that the eyes are quicker than the mouth and that the brain always follows the first impulse. Try this exercise also with a pack already ordered for groups of cards (first all the flowers,..) and tell me your records.

I wish to make a collection of mental exercises.

If you know some send them to d.attolico@trend.it
