Crane

Cranes of all sizes are ubiquitous on construction sites. Not many other machines can lift the immense loads that cranes can. There are drawbacks though; cranes cannot be combined for greater lifting power, the booms on cranes are subject to enormous stresses that can result in catastrophic failures, and cranes are extremely LARGE, requiring lots of storage and operating space. Check out the GIT-powered alternative.

 Plane

Planes use jet engines or turboprops to provide lift and forward thrust. What are the disadvantages? Low fuel efficiency for jets, limited speed for turboprops. Advantages of GIT include VTOL capability, scaleability and redundancy for safety purposes, and potentially a great reduction in noise. Here's a more detailed discussion.

 Boat

Rather than using props, a boat could be driven using inertial propulsion. No more mangled manatees! Submarines could operate much more quietly with their drive systems inside the hull, and sailboats could keep emergency power aboard in the form of a GIT module. What else? Take a look.

"What? Are you making fun of me?" -- Amanda Gilbert

 Toy

How about a little remote-controlled flying wing? A fully mobile airborne GIT-bot? Barbietm cars that can land on her mansion's helipad? Or maybe just a little red cube that can dive bomb the cat. The potential for mischief scares us but ought to delight all twelve-year old boys.

 Movie Camera

Those cameras are heavy and awkward. How about if we throw away everything but the camera and add a computer-controlled GIT? The camera can then get any shot from any height in any weather without the need for all that extra support equipment and without the limitations of that equipment. Yeah, it's a niche market, but a GOOD niche market. Want to know more?
