A brief Introduction to the subjects treated

DECT
DECT is an advanced digital cordless phone standard. DECT provides low-cost yet powerful cordless voice and data services (including wireless LAN and Internet access). Over 2 million DECT cordless phones are already sold in 40 countries, and new applications beyond cordless telephony are coming to market soon.

GSM

IMT-2000 systems
A world-wide standard, under development by the ITU, which aims to capitalize on the potential synergy between the vast global markets for FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) and multimedia mobile personal telecommunications.

Interactive digital transmission systems
The Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) standard offers an ideal technical platform for interactive digital services. In Europe, the first applications using this standard are coming now. There are already successfully installed digital services using similar system specifications. One of them is DirecTV in the US, with more than 1 million systems sold in the first year. Those applications are currently focused on broadcasting digital video and audio. Other digital services like Internet or home shopping have started.

ISDN
ISDN no longer needs an introduction. With the growth of the Internet, ISDN has gained respect and market share even in parts of the world that ignored it before. High-quality voice communications, fast data and Internet access, plus a series of comfort features are winning new customers in every corner of the world.
