Activity from Greece
I am a enthusiast of Greek island, so every years I spend my holidays in this sunny country, looking for a nice places in some new island. When I begun MS activity, european friends conviced me to do some activity from rare squares and in the 1991, when I got CEPT licence, I dedicated some of my holiday time to VHF. In the past I was qrv from the places:
KM27NA - Angeria / KM26NX - AlikyParos isl. - Nice island of central Aegean sea crossed two locators; best places for central Europe are only on west coast or above Profiti Elia mountain. One good tropo qso with IT9 across Peloponnesos region.
KM06UW - PilosPeloponnesos - Activity from sea border; many good tropo qso with 9H and IT9.
JM99UR - ArillaCorfu isl. - South of Jonian sea, west coast offer good place for radio; usual tropo qso with north Italy, over 1000 km, using sea duct.
KM09AJ - Cape MegahoroCorfu isl. - Lower part of island crossing the rare square KM09; same conditions of JM99UR.
KM15SL - Falassarna / KM25AM - ChaniaCrete isl. - Both places are in north part of island. Clear radio horizon beetween 280°W-90°E in Chania; Falassarna is in the north west coast, sea border, with clear take off till 340°(NNW, W closed from an hill).
I am still waiting to have qso with all the squares activated by me, and I will be ready to give any informations (logistic and so on) to everybody interested in VHF activity from greek island.
