Genetics Primer
Please excuse my delay on this page. I have to finish my Friedreich's ataxia proposal first! I am in the revision process of my proposal, so soon (hopefully!) I'll be free to add explanations that help explain genetic inheritance. Neither Friedreich's ataxia or bipolar disorder is completely straightforward in this respect, so I plan to include the "normal" genetic inheritance patterns and explain how mutations and genetic heterogeneity make these diseases a little different. Also, planned is a glossary to help explain terms throughout my site such as "genetic heterogeneity"! Additionally, I plan to include a "techniques" section to help explain how some genetic research is done. In the meantime, there are some really good sites included on my learning links page. I especially encourage everyone to check out the Designer Genes site!.
