Monitor Setup

For a correct visualization of the images showed within the Gallery, and also to mantain as best as possible the Deep Void's page layout, it's best to set a working resolution at least of 800x600 pixel, using a color depth not less than 16 bit/pixel (65.000 colors, High Color). This way, it's preferable to maximize the browser's main window, in order to achieve the widest area for documents browsing. Use the calibration grayscale bar to set up the luminosity and contrast of the monitor. The best setting is achieved when all the grayscale' steps are separately viewable.

The best visualization, however, is available only trough a 24 bit/pixel color depth (16,800,000 colors, True Color). If your system is equipped with a monitor wider than 15", then it's preferable to set a higher resolution, at least 1024x768 pixel, which is easily available if you have a good monitor able to support a vertical refresh frequency not lower than 70 Hz not interlaced. If your system owns a good Sony Trinitron monitor, with an excellent Matrox MGA Millennium graphic subsystem, then you'll can achieve a very comfortable 1152x864 pixel video resolution, and also set up a virtual desktop in order to get a much wider working area. Anyway, for resolution higher than 800x600 pixel, Deep Void's layout don't ask for a maximized browser's window, but for a correct dimensioning of the main window: the line on which relies the owl shows how to correct dimension the window.

WARNING: all the Deep Void's documents are developed for Netscape Navigator 3.01 (or higher), so problems can arise using different browsers.
