Emergency Preparedness

Until my retirement, I worked in the Emergency Systems Group of the Decision and Information Sciences Division of Argonne National Laboratory. Our group provides assistance in emergency preparedness to The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), The Department of Energy, and to the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) of The Department of the Army and FEMA, as well as engaging in related activities.

Here is a photo from the September 1997 radiological emergency preparedness exercise for the Nine Mile Point nuclear power plant; the photo was taken in the New York State Emergency Operations Center in Albany, New York, where I was evaluating dose assessment. My colleagues shown in the photo are Robert Acerno and Mark Farrell of FEMA Region II.
