Summer Time

This is the best time of the growing season! I can sit back and enjoy my surroundings. Most of the hard work has been completed. The clean-up and pruning of early Spring is done. The soil preparation and fertilizing are finished. The containers are all cleaned and prepared with fresh soil. The deck, picnic table and other wooden structures are checked, repaired and painted. The gravel cleaned and all the excess vegetation removed.

The Spring-time selection and planting of the flowering plants can now be observed and further adjustments made. Being that many of the plants are in containers and their light requirements vary, some movement may be needed to insure optimal conditions. Also now is the time to experiment with making cuttings of various plants and transplanting the vigorous growers.

All the sections have been updated to reflect the Summer season! The opportunity to photograph all the flowers and displays abound. The chart to the right will highlight all the sections that have received more than seasonal attention. So if you check this site regularly, a quick glance at this table will clue you in on what has changed since last time. I will date the table to let you know every time I made the changes.

New Work Area Opens

The new work area has been one of the collection places for garbage and everything of some value that I'm not sure of a permanent location! I have entertained various arrangements for this area in the past but had no need to hurry.

Now that I'm going to use the picnic table much more frequently, I will need a place for my woodworking tasks. The picnic table turned out to be an excellent platform for my "chop" saw and portable table saw. When I start I will keep you updated photographically on my progress!
