Big Bertha is one of my favorites. It takes off nice and slow, comes right back down close by usualy, and has never tried to kill me (lost control).

This is my second Beta series rocket. The directions say to paint it all black, and that's the way I had it until I started to use rockets again. I re-painted it red, white, and blue. It looks much nicer now.

23	11/29/99	C6-5	No wind	I was in such a hurry to launch all the rockets off before it got dark that I forgot to straighten up the rod a little bit because Big Bertha flies slower and can't get to high on an angle. Shot off and landed in a tall tree. But I'm pretty sure next time it rains the glue will get wet and the shock cord will let go of Bertha and I can buy a new chute and nose. FOUND: 12/11/99 Finally came down. Two fins broke off, couldn't find them. And nose cone and parachute were no where to be seen. REPAIRS COMPLETE: 12/31/99 New: nose cone, parachute, launch lug, 2 fins, engine mount, and repainted.
