Arturo Parodi Polar Station was established by FACH (The Chilean Airforce) during the summer of 1999. Apart from short inspection visits, it remains unoccupied and much of the station is now buried under the snow. The design is modular based on several prefabricated fibre glass "melon'  huts connected together by a plasticated fabric tube. This photo shows the kitchen module. The station is only a short walk from the ALE Patriot Hills Camp. The Southern Ellsworth Mountains can be een in the distance.
