The match itself resulted in a seven wicket win for Paul Burton-Pye's Sunday XI. The Saturday XI batting first made 147-9, captain Tony Gregory scoring 75 not out and Gary Smith 48, before Nick Emerson ran run through the tail with a spell of 3-0-6-4, also of note was Maurice Houldsworth's spell of 8-3-8-2. The reply was dominated by Mike Sutton's 56, with good support from Andy Denny (31) and David Emerson (25 not out).
