FEET SHOD WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE – Defensive
Ephesians 6:15 And your FEET SHOD with the PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;

For us to stand our ground or to march forward in rugged paths, the feet must be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Motives to obedience, amidst trials, must be drawn from a clear knowledge of the gospel. This helps us to walk in peace with our family (one foot) and walk in peace with the body of Christ (other foot).

With learning how to walk in peace, we produce certain fruits of the spirit.  Every one knows that in families there is conflict.  There is also lots of hurting going on in churches.  To walk in peace needs exercise, it is not something that comes free.  Symbolic spoken – we need our feet covered with peace to do our daily walking.  If not, the thorns and thistles will hurt us. (Demonic powers)

Acts 24:16 And herein do I EXERCISE MYSELF, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

When we are able to walk in peace with both our family and God’s family, we are ready to preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good news.
The Gospel is called a gospel of peace because it set men at peace with God and teach us to walk in peace with all.  I always keep the cross before me and for me the vertical line means my peace with God and the horizon line means peace with men.  And – Jesus is the Price of peace and we are His followers.  He paid the price on the cross for us have piece with God and human.

SHIELD OF FAITH – (Defensive)
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the SHIELD OF FAITH, wherewith ye shall be able to QUENCH ALL THE FIERY DARTS of the WICKED

A shield is used figuratively of God and of earthly princes as the defenders of their people.  Shields were usually "anointed" (Isa. 21:5), in order to preserve them, and at the same time make the fiery darts of the enemy glide off them more easily.

Faiths primary idea is trust. A thing is true, and therefore worthy of trust. It admits of many degrees up to full assurance of faith, in accordance with the evidence on which it rests. Knowledge is an essential element in all faith, and is sometimes spoken of as an equivalent to faith.

We need to use the shield of faith, which is an act of the will in addition to the act of the understanding, in order to protect ourselves from the fiery darts of the wicked

Faith is all in all used in an hour of temptation. Faith, as relying on unseen objects, receiving Christ and the benefits of redemption, and so receive grace from Him, is like a shield, a defense every way. The devil is the wicked one. Violent temptations, by which the soul is set on fire of hell, are darts Satan shoots at us. Faith applying the word of God and the grace of Christ quenches the darts of temptation.

HELMET OF SALVATION
– (Defensive)
Ephesians 6:17 And take the HELMET OF SALVATION

The mind is the place where sin is conceived and we need to learn how to block it with the word of God.  A headshot can be very server and we need excellent protection, therefore salvation must be our helmet. A good hope of salvation, a Scriptural expectation of victory, will purify the soul, and keep it from being defiled by Satan.

The mind is the battlefield for war between Satan and Salvation.  He will try his utmost best to rob us from our salvation.  He makes use of lies and we need to casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience. (2 Corinthians 10:5-6)

Satan may tempt, but he cannot force; may persuade us to cast ourselves down, but he cannot do it.

SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
– (Offensive)
Ephesians 6:17b and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God

The Christian armed for defense in battle, with only one weapon of attack; but it is enough, the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God and BALANCED WITH THE ANOINTING.
It subdues and takes down evil desires and blasphemous thoughts as they rise WITHIN; and answers unbelief and error as they assault from WITHOUT. A single text, WELL UNDERSTOOD, and RIGHTLY APPLIED, at once destroys a temptation or an objection, and subdues the most formidable adversary.
Jesus in the wilderness uses the sword against the temptations of Satan

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Prayer must close all the other parts of our Christian Armour. We must use holy thoughts in our ordinary course. A vain heart will be vain in prayer. We must pray with all kinds of prayer, public, private, and secret; social and solitary; sober and unexpected: with all the parts of prayer; confession of sin, petition for mercy, and thanksgiving for favors received. And we must do it by the grace of God the Holy Spirit, in dependence on, and according to, his teaching. We must preserve in particular requests, notwithstanding discouragements. We must pray, not for ourselves only, but for all saints. Our enemies are mighty, and we are without strength, but our Redeemer is almighty, and in the power of his mighty, we may overcome.
Jesus Christ our Lord. Grace, that is, the favor of God; and all good, spiritual and temporal, which is from it, is and shall be with all those who thus love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity, and with them only.

Ephesians 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye MAY BE ABLE TO STAND against the wiles of the devil.

It is so important to GET AND KEEP the amour on, and then TO STAND  in the day of temptations.  Satan and his demons try to rob you, they plan to see if they can steel what God has given us.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
Put on the full armour of God
Go Back
