Acting Out
Acting out is so much fun in storytime. Basically, it is an activity whereby a particular movement or set of movements or sounds is used to convey a humorous situation or story. It can be used as a complement to other storytime activities. Children really respond to the interaction. A couple of fun sites, which offer these types of acting out activities, include:
Ginger
Bear’s Educational Activities: Silly Body Movements
Several silly body movements are suggested. Examples:
"Pretend you are walking" "in deep mud…through Jello…on fly paper."
Stories
for Scouts: Audience Participation Stories
Several audience participation stories are presented.
In these stories, the audience participates with the appropriate sounds
and motions.
