Turning Over A New Leaf
I decided to create a whole page to display my  "Turning Over A New Leaf" art project from February 2001.
Greed.
Materialism.
Abuse of women, children, and animals.
Descrimination.
Violence.
Poverty.
Environmental devastation...

...still widespread in our society.  But where there's life, there's hope.  As one person, you cannot solve all the world's problems, but you can contribute to positive changes.
From the ground, pick a leaf with a saying that represents something important to you.
In turn, write on a blank leaf a saying, quote, or statement that describes a change in society you would like to see, or an issue close to your heart, and leave it in place of the one you chose.
The project consists of the tree, and of the loose paper leaves.  In total there were 936 leaves made.  About 200-250 of them are attached to the tree.  The rest of the leaves with sayings on them (about 476-526) get scattered around the base of the tree.  The remaining leaves  are 210 blank ones, on which the viewers can leave behind their own statements.
