Here I am on a bridge over a gorge that is near the castle.  It's amazing how much forehead you see.

This is the view of Marienbrucke, or Mary's bridge from the castle.  It was named after Ludwig's mother.  The bridge is over a hundred feet long.

This is another picture of his bedroom.  You can see the details of the carving a bit better. Each of the 16 spires going up at the top is a replica of one at a famous church somewhere in Germany at the time. It is easy to see why it took so many woodcarver so many years to finish.
