Where's Marko?

The following photos were taken during a whitewater rafting trip I took on the Middle Fork of the American River near Sacramento, CA in May, 1995. The first thing we did after getting into the water on the first day was go through the "Tunnel Chute Rapid." The man-made tunnel was built to divert the flow of the river so that the original riverbed could be more easily mined for gold. In the very narrow chute leading up to the tunnel, the water (and everything else) drops 18 feet over a distance of 80 feet. The tunnel itself is very calm, but the chute is not ...

The challenge, of course, is to find Marko.

The rafting company was American Whitewater Expeditions.
