POWER / CURRENT CONTROL

This is the case for my intended power supply control, it used to be the testing unit for the attack radar on the RAAF F111 fighter bombers!! :-)), The pepsi can gives some idea of scale. It came with lots of goodies, the relay board next to the panel came from somewhere else though

These are the two variacs mounted inside the control unit, the larger one to the left is for voltage control with the other unit for RSG speed control.

This shows the relays and the various control circuits, rsg/spare EMI filters and safety systems. The unit is switched on by firstly enabling the system, to arm both the emergency switch and the coil run switch/button must be off, once armed, the rsg system must be active to enable firing. If the emergency stop switch is hit, the system must be totally reset including switching the key to the off position, observing all the above conditions and then restarting.

This is a shot from the rear of the unit showing the primary filter on the RHS, and the various heavy cable connections to and from the current limiting/input - output plugs on the side of the unit.
The following few images show the other views, the completed unit, and the unit standing next to the current limiting variac.
