My Hobbies

Some of my hobbies include playing (but mostly watching) sports, listening to music, and doing wacky stuff right here on the Internet!

Sports

ESPNET SportsZone--All the scores, the news, and even live NBA games on RealAudio. Good stuff.

USA Today Sports--Good coverage, basically all the news you need, in a glossy format.

NBA.COM--In the vernacular, "the shit."

EA Sports--Let's not forget that millions of people would not know what it feels like to sack Troy Aikman, to poke check Lemieux on a break-away, or to dunk in the face of three Seattle Sonics were it not for the awesome games these guys have created year after year.

Ultimate Frisbee-It's the only way to fly....Although I'm not actually playing right now, and it's unclear about whether I'll be able to play again sophomore year, I still have a love for Ultimate Frisbee, because it's one of the few sports that you don't have to be a great athlete to do well at. Not to say that I'm not a great athlete or anything... :^)

Riflery-The other sport I participated in in high school and fell in love with, I love it even more because the big organization behind rifle shooting happens to fit perfectly with my political beliefs. If only the Libertarians could get some political support (and lotsa money) from the NRA and its members...Talk about a match made in heaven!

"Guns are our friends." --Jim Dickinson

Music

I must admit that I'm not really into music that much and I haven't listened to most of what's out there at all in terms of styles. But I know what I like among the music I have heard, and the following are my favorite artists, sort of (but not absolutely) in order of preference:

Alanis Morissette

She's awesome, to say the least. I can't wait for her new album, which is scheduled for release later this spring.

Hand In My Pocket

Ironic

Rush

Ace of Base

Madonna

Tori Amos

Sergei Rachmaninoff

Janet Jackson

"Weird Al" Yankovic

Internet

Talkcity--Although I don't think I'll be there much (if at all) this semester, I virtually lived there for the last two months of the first semester, as it provides for great real-time chatting with very interesting people from all over the world.

My Yahoo--A great service; it's where I get virtually all of my news about what's going on in that strange place called the outside world. If you're not signed up, DO IT!

Geocities--What can I say? Without Geocities, I'd be home-(page) less. If you've been looking for access to a homepage or would just like to put up a page about a hobby of yours, look no further.

And in the words of a famous man, "That's all I have to say about that."
