IMF should be called WIB: Welfare for Investors and Banks. In the US, welfare for poor folks has decreased and welfare for rich folks has increased. From this, we know who is now running the country and who is putting pressure on the rest of the world to agree with and emulate our Welfare for Investors and Banks.
What banks/markets/corporations/nations need is creative regulation to prevent overproduction/overcapacity/overpriced stocks/cronyism/fraud/exploitation/bad investments/environmental degradation/concentration of wealth & power/irresponsibility.
We need to make corporations responsible and just by having a decent global minimum wage (adjusted to the special circumstances of each country) and by making saving the environment their number one priority. If we do that, we can begin to move from a global corporocracy to a global democracy. If we can achieve a global democracy with reverence for the environment, the most serious human problems will vanish.
