Former Minister Romanus Lansiquot says
"I am not surprised"

Former Tourism Minister
Romanus Lansiquot

Former Minister of Tourism, Romanus Lansiquot says that he is not surprised that the Minister of Tourism, Philip J. Pierre was removed from the post. It was a bad decision to have appointed him in the first place, reason being: He lacks the necessary image for this high profile job and he also lacks the charisma to attract new investment opportunities in tourism.

It doesn't matter what anyone says, the fact is that Mr. Pierre has been demoted and replaced by his junior Minister  who obviously lacks the necessary experience for the job.

In 1996 the tourism industry brought over 700 million dollars to the economy. It is an industry that employs over 12,000 St. Lucians.

It is interesting to note that in the last three years, no new tourism projects were created except for those which Mr. Pierre inherited from the previous administration.

No doubt, the next big surprise for the former SLP Minister of tourism will be when the people of Castries East register their dissatisfaction with his performance as a district representative for the area.
