What about our Flag and Anzac Day?

Republicans who claim the Union Jack in the corner of our Flag means we are not truly independent do not even know the definition of a national flag -- which includes the requirement that it must nbot have a border around it nor be joined to anything else.

So whilst we certainly have the symbol of the Union Jack, it no longer represents any authority over a politically independent nation like Australia.

Comprised solely of the three Christian Crosses of St.George, St.Andrew and St.Patrick, this symbol quite rightly reflects our proud origins, history, values and Christian heritage.

It is for this latter reason that anti-monarchists detest our flag and if a republic were to take over, our flag would soon be abandoned.

Because Anzac Day is similarly steeped in our fine traditions and is a constant reminder of that history, identity, achievements and ideals, any republic would quickly phase it out by overshadowing it with other things to commemorate.
