Friends of Dana and Dusty may give their donations directly to the two or, if there is time, mail them to Dana, but for the tax deduction, be certain the checks are made out to the church.
We are concentrating on the following needs right now:
equipment to keep TV ERA afloat as they work with the Mother Theresa Organization to handle the almost unbelievable number of refugees pouring into Macedonia daily. One generous donor is sending us the cash to purchase a laptop computer and other things requested by TVERA.
cash to cover the plane tickets, transportation within Macedonia, and simple meals of our two volunteers, who are being provided shelter by the Mother Theresa Organization.
cash to purchase 2-ounce "space blankets." Dana has found a supplier who will sell them to us for $0.88 plus shipping to Alabama, whereas they sell for $4 in Army-Navy surplus centers. They come 480 to a case and we hope for a minimum of two cases. Each "blanket" is waterproof and provides warmth for one person.
cash for our two volunteers to use to drive over the Greek border and purchase flour, sugar, and oil.
We will update our needs list as we hear from "Eddie" at the television station. There are times when he has trouble getting online, so we cannot be certain of hearing from him twice a day, as we often do.
