Prisoners at Auschwitz

"When prisoners first arrived at Nazi camps, Nazi soldiers divided them into two groups—workers and nonworkers. The nonworkers were ordered to undress in order to take a shower, but the soldiers then herded them into gas chambers where they were killed by cyanide gas. At Auschwitz alone, Nazis murdered between 1.5 million and 4 million people including Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, and political prisoners."

Prisoners at Auschwitz

Never forget these words

"The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant and so devastating, that Civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated."

Robert H. Jackson as Prosecutor

Opening Statement - Nuremberg Military Tribunal, 1945

About this site

"GENOCIDE"

FOREWORD

This webpage was born from indignation and horror when the Indonesian military and its associated militia (groups inspired, organized, armed, trained and directed by the Indonesian Army and Police) began the wave of brutal persecution, intimidation, mutilation and mass killing among the vast majority of the Maubere People (East Timor) -who, under UNO’s supervision, had voted massively, by the end of August 1999, for his liberation from the ferocious yoke of Indonesia- and the meticulous devastation of the territory, accompanied by the violent deportation of the less resistant, specially women and children.

Nowadays, thanks to the intervention of the peace enforcement force organized by UNO under the pressure of Portugal and other democracies, the Maubere People is free and on his way to build the Nation of Timor Loro Sae.  Not entirely according to his own will and wishes, as nearly 100,000 East-Timorese are kept by force and intimidation in concentration camps in Indonesia, but the new Nation will find its ways to become a reality.

Despite not ending so well as desirable, the struggle of the Maubere People and his liberation might be seen as an example.  In fact, other Peoples all over the World are struggling for their freedom.

This site is kept alive, not only due to its historical interest but also because it might inspire other oppressed Peoples in this world, and call the attention of the international community as well.

·       Because every Peoples have the right to Liberty and Dignity, and the international community must help them to become free;

·       Because genocides have been committed all along the History of Humanity, but we all have the joint and several obligations to support any legitimate struggle for Freedom against oppressors, greedy dictators backed by powerful interests, let it be internal or external, personal or corporate, visible or obscure;

·       Because nothing, not even and namely political, ethnic, religious or nationalist alleged reasons, nothing at all should be accepted to justify genocide;

·       Because violence being a violation of the basic and universally acquired human rights, no violent actions should be considerately taken as the only righteous mean to fight genocides, unless provoked by violent aggression and finally being legitimately justified as the only response against the oppressors responsible by genocide;

·       Because non-violent means, such as the democratic exercise of citizenship, the use of the right to expose genocide by any possible ways, passive resistance actions etc., might lead to attain the final objective of liberation, every actions of this kind should be thoughtfully considered and preferred;

·       Because we all must get involved with any struggle susceptive of transforming the World into real Humanity.

Because all these reasons, this webpage will be kept alive, aiming to inspire and motivate everyone to use the immense power of the Web to join the struggle to eradicate genocide from the History of Mankind.

Thus, everyone concerned with Human Rights, Liberty and the struggle for Freedom should feel obliged to join this cause.

Our Liberty might be at a risk if we take it as being definitely acquired, and further genocides will threaten Humanity if we keep ignoring that some genocide is still being committed somewhere and dismiss of denouncing and fighting such horrors.
