Functional foods
In July 1994 the National Food Authority (PO Box 7186, Canberra Mail Centre ACT 2610) published a policy discussion paper entitled "Functional Foods". The Society responded with a submission dated November 1994.
Addiction to tobacco
The Society has examined the general question of the nature of addiction, and the specific subject of tobacco addiction. We are convinced that smoking is injurious to health, and have provided model counselling sessions which teenagers or their parents may find useful. These model sessions are transcripts of actual sessions recorded by the Society in 1990. We recommend recording counselling sessions of this kind, as review of the record after a year or two can be most beneficial in helping people counselled to gain insight into their rationalisations.
