The external affairs power
The Australian Senate instructed its Legal and Constitutional References Committee to conduct an inquiry into Australia's external affairs power. In December 1994, the Committee invited public submissions. The Society made a submission to the Committee, dated January 1995.
Trans-Tasman mutual recognition
In April 1995 the Council of Australian Governments (contact: Commonwealth-State Relations Secretariat, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, 3-5 National Circuit, BARTON ACT 2600) and the Government of New Zealand issued jointly a discussion paper entitled A proposal for the trans-Tasman mutual recognition of standards for goods and occupations. The Society submitted a response dated June 1995.

The Society has formulated a Position Paper on this subject.
