Honours and awards
In October 1994 the Australian Government established a committee
to examine issues relating to the Australian system of honours and awards.
The Society made a submission to the Committee dated November 1994.
Separation of Aboriginal children from their families
In November 1994, the Society released a research paper on this subject,
based on an analysis of information assembled in the course of the Royal
Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. A copy is available from

Family Court - orders re children
In December 1994 the Australian Law Reform Commission (GPO Box 3708,
Sydney NSW 2001) published its Issues Paper No. 14 entitled "Parent child
contact and the Family Court". The Society made a submission dated

Languages policy
In December 1994 the ACT Government (contact: Social Policy Branch,
Chief Minister's Department, GPO Box 158, Canberra ACT 2601) issued
a draft paper for discussion entitled "ACT Languages Policy". The
Society made a submission dated March 1995. A copy is available from
