Wish to bring back a system of Monarchy to Laos
maybe just only a dream. The Laotian
royal family is unlike others. The Laotian royal family is one of the most
conflicting family. Members of the
royal family have been fighting each other for centuries. Because of this royal family, Laos has gone
nowhere but down and susceptible to foreign occupation and domination. They are the ones who brought foreign power and
foreign troops into Laos. They have
done that time and again generation after generation. For example they brought Communism and Vietnamese troops into
Laos. Laos is under Communist
Vietnamese control.
Twenty-five years passed the
royal family's vicious cycle is coming back again. Recently the royal family members, namely Prince Sauriyavong
Savang, his nephews and his cousins Prince Panya Souvannaphouma, and Prince
Mangkharat Souvannaphoma reorganized the so called "Royal Family" and
claimed that they are going to restore peace in Laos while their own cousin
Chaofasay Souphanouvong who is holding a high government post in Vientiane and
he is not ready to welcome the exile princes back to Laos anytime soon. Peace restoration means nothing but
war. For instance, the Royal family's
followers were ordered to attack Lao border post at Vang Tao in Pakse Province
- border Lao-Thai on Monday, July 3, 2000.
This kind of behavior of the
royal family members is not acceptable by the Laotian people. The royal family must be responsible for the
whole cause, which the people have suffered and that they have gone through
many painful experiences for centuries.
Both the present and the past governments made the Laotian people
suffered for the past centuries and the people will continue to suffer for the
century to come we don't change. They
made Laos fall under foreign control and domination. Now it is enough!
History tells that Laos
never had peace under Monarchy System for 50 years. Laos, in the very true sense, was a slavery country under
foreigners' eyes. The words,
"Independence, Sovereignty, Unity, Democracy and Prosperity," are
simply a lie that sticking on the lips of the royal family members and their
puppet leaders. It is very shameful for
the royal family to claim Laos as their land.
The land belongs to the Laotian people who love and defend it at all
cost. Those who wish to destroy and
divide the land and its people apart are traitors and including the members of
the royal family.
Therefore, we the people
from Laos, as well as Laotian people inside Laos, are strongly and totally
opposed the royal family warring activities against Laos, and its political
campaign to bring Monarchy system back to Laos. They are the ones who brought Communism and foreign troops into
Laos. They must responsible for the
people's pains and sufferings, and the damages caused to the country including
the lost of so many Laotian lives, properties, human right and political rights
in Laos.
Whoever and whichever
country participate and supports the royal family must share the blame and
responsible for the all causes in the past and at the present. Remember! Communists are not only cleaning
up the monarchy's dirt, but they will also clean out Laos too. The royal family will make Laos disappear
from the map sooner or later.
Both Monarchism and
Communism in Laos are borrowing systems, which the Laotian people do not wish
to live under. We need a true Democracy
for the land of Laos. So, the people
can have a chance to express their feelings, their wills, and their ideas and
to exercise their freedoms. Whoever
follows Communist and Monarchy is considered unwise. Monarchy and Communist already poisoned the Laotian people for so
long. Why beg them to come back again?
We must bring Democracy,
which is relevant to culture, education, technology and market economy, to the
land of Laos. Communist seems to be a
transitional period for a change for a true Democracy in Laos. People have no right whatsoever to express
themselves privately or publicly under Communist rule. We don't need Communist and Monarchist to
rule us anymore.
We must be patience a little
bit longer but not to bring Monarchy, the slavery system, back on track. We must not let it happens again. Throw both Monarchy and Communist away then
bring Democracy home. That is our
goal. Therefore, we appeal for your
helping hand to make Democracy happens very quickly, so the Laotian people will
not suffer any more under those two systems.
