Bay St. Louis Man, Although Gassed, Delivers Message

ENGAGED as a runner near Courshamps, France. July 18-20, 1918, Private Henry J. Tudury "made repeated trips through intense shelling and machine-gun fire. On July 18 he was gassed, but bravely continued with his heroic work until he fell exhausted on the 20^th."

For this extraordinary heroism in action Private Tudury has been awarded the distinguished service cross by Gen. Pershing. He is a member of Company C, Twelfth Machine Gun Battalion, and his father, Peter Tudury, resides at Bay St. Louis, Miss.
