About the Drumline

For the past twenty years, the IUP Drumline has performed at the
forefront of marching percussion. A strong emphasis on basics
gives way to the implementation of advanced rudiments and literature.
The repertoire of the Marching Band, under Dr. Charles Casavant,
allows for the incorporation of the latest trends in performance
and composition. From classic to rockl from jazz to pop; the IUP
Drumline enjoys an exploration of genres.

Members of the IUP drumline have performed at the highest levels
of the Drum Corps actvity, marching with: The 27th Lancers, Phantom
Regiment, Cadets of Bergen County, Star of Indiana, Crossmen, and
various Division II/III corps. Members have also gone on to instruct
The Blue Devils, Phantom Regiment, Cadets of Bergen County, The
Velvet Knights, The University of North Texas, various Division
II/III corps, and dozens of successful high school programs.

With the renowned percussion studio of Dr. Gary J. Olmstead and a
marching program committed to mastering and advancing the art,
IUP provides a tremendous environment for students and their percussive
studies.
