Plan B had been together since January 1999. After only a month of playing together, the band recorded their first CD at SSU's Seagull Studios. The CD, "PLAN B", has eight original songs written by Dave Smith and Luke Hughes.
One of the band's earliest public performances was on WZBH's live radio broadcast, "Take 93 on the Road", at CC22 in Seaford, DE. After this show, other gigs quickly followed (many thanks to Skip Dixon for this opportunity.) In July, PlanB competed against 16 other bands at the Music Festival for Youth in Laurel, DE and took third place. Their CD can be purchased at several local music stores, including Sam Goody's at the Centre in Salisbury, MD. The CD made the local Top 10 list in August 1999.
The band members are from small towns on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, near the beach resort , Ocean City. The band had played in several local clubs throughout the tri-state area and had traveled to New York to play at CBGB's. In September, Plan B participated in the "Best Band on the Beach Labor Day Concert Series" at Ocean City, MD. On October 16th, the band performed a showcase of their original music at Sam Goody's at the Centre in Salisbury, MD .
The band officially disbanded as a quartet in July 2000......
