Surviving hangovers

• Drink lots of water
• Make sure you have time to have a lie in
• Eat something in the morning
• Get up and get some fresh air
• Don't drink too much...
• There's not much you can do, so just accept that awful headache
• Get some hangover remedies
• DON'T drink any more alcohol in the morning
• Try to look smart and alert, and maybe nobody will notice
• Don't ask for sympathy from friends, you won't get any...

  Remember: your memory is missing for a reason: selective amnesia

Throwing a party

• Remove all breakables
• Make sure there is plenty of food
• Provide free alcohol
• Make sure there is a wide range of music to suit all guest's tastes
• Start in the early afternoon and go on till early morning
• Have the Yellow Pages handy in the morning
• Make sure there is plenty of floor space for guests
• Lose your parents/square housemates
• Invite a lot of people and allow them to bring others- the more the merrier
• If the house is too nice to risk damaging, have a garden party with a marquee

Being a student

• Be prepared to drink a lot.

• Do some work occassionally.

• Time how long it takes to get ready in the morning. That way you can stay in bed until the last possible moment.

• Learn how to get to sleep during loud noises, ie arguing neighbours, aeroplanes, waffling lecturers.

• Get used to eating slop. Whether you're catered for or cooking for yourself, the food will be bad.

• Write your name on any food you leave in a communal cupboard or fridge. That way people know whose food they're eating.

• Learn how to dance, or at least give a reasonable impression of dancing.

• Learn how to wash and dry your own clothes. Ironing is optional. (Or better still, get your parents to come and collect it, wash it and bring it back)

• Ignore electricity restrictions (within reason - don't power 1000W club speakers in a 500W restriction room, but hairdryers and toasters work fine)

• Get a room with your own shower. Its luxury and you don't have to pull other peoples hair out of the plug hole before the water will drain away.

Creating a web page

• Get a free web page from GeoCities

• Think up a style for your page. My page is designed to look like stone.

• Get a free guestbook from LPage

• Write about yourself (but leave out the bad parts- I did)

• Think up some stuff to put in the page

• Put all your favourite links on your page. Then add your friends homepages to the list. They'll be so happy that they'll add your page to their links and people will visit you. (Thats a hint for Mic, Nick and Phil - add me to your links)

• Add a counter (but only if can take the depression and loneliness when no one ever visits

• Put "under construction" at the top of your page. It means that you don't have to explain why there's no real content to your page, and people might visit again later.

• Don't be too wierd (Mic), too offensive (Phil) or too lazy to write your page (Nick)

• Submit your page to search engines and directories like Yahoo, Lycos, Search.Com and Housernet

• Join GeoRewards and get a banner on your page for someone elses page. If enough people visit your page and see the banner, your banner will appear on someones page. (But if no one visits you, your banner will never be seen and no one will visit ever)
