My Roots:

Puerto Rico

I was born in New York City, but left to Puerto Rico when I was ten years old. I returned to New York as an adult. Growing up, studying, living and working in these so different environments, help me relate and understand numerous problems and issues concerning Puerto Ricans and other minority groups in the United States. I consider myself a Puerto Rican with a bilingual and bicultural background.

My family is from Moca, Puerto Rico, a small town in the northwestern part of the island.

I also lived in Aguadilla, a beautiful city surrounded by breathtaking beaches. It is also full of history and culture.
