Why ask why? BE A PHI!!!

Phi Phacts

What is a Phi?

In Phi Mu, we refer to our pledges (uninitiated members) as Phi Sisters. Even though a phi is not an initiated member, she is very much a sister. She may wear letters, attend most meetings, and participate in chapter decisions and activities. We do not believe in hazing our Phi's, as it takes away from the bond of sisterhood.

How long does a member remain a Phi?

The length of a member's phi period may vary, depending on the time of year she pledges. Generally, however, we try to have six weeks of phi training and then initiation.

What happens during the Phi period?

During the six weeks, new members attend weekly Phi Training sessions with the Phi Director. Training helps Phi's to learn history, traditions, and the creed. They also do other activities, such as:

There are other special things that the initiated members do for the Phi Class, but they will have to remain a surprise so the Phi's don't find out!
