My Senior Project

As you can see that there's no fix time for working on the Electrical Engineering Project like other subjects. I should allocate time for it myself. I'm now planning it for about 10 hours a week. Have I told you that it's about Thai speech Analysis and Recognition? In fact, I'm working together with Narin with the propose of serving the work of the Graduate & Ph.d. Students. My dream is that some day every Thai people can communicate with computer as easily as talking with friends. This may be quite far from becoming reality, but I still have scores of years left to realize that dream.

Let me introduce my adviser : Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somchai Jittapungul. He is also the head of the Digital Signal Processing Laboratory in which I'm working my project. He is very kind to me and always gives me many advice when needed. Also, he taught me in a course about Digital Signal Processing last term.

These are the kind of work I must do to complete the project.

Study the phonetic characteristics of Thai speech

Study the recognition process as a whole

Study the use of cepstrum for speech analysis

Develop software implementing the analysis process and algorithms using Visual C++

Using the software, study and analyse the signal characteristics of Thai speech

Conclude, do a presentation and make a report

Further Study Plan

I'm planning to go study abroad. Maybe USA, maybe UK. It depend on whether I will recieve scholarship or not. The CSC web site can provide you information about scholarship.
I have applied for "Thai-Cambridge Foundation" scholarship. Please help pray for me to get it. I really need one because sending me to study abroad is quite a burden on my parent especially in the economic crisis time like this.
I'm thinking of applying for other scholarship as well, eg. Fullbright scholarship ,Chula scholarship. For these last two, I would go USA and might apply for Universities such as Stanford, MIT, Berkley (if possible).
