These are a Few of My Favourite Things!

Music

Basically I can listen to any type of music, some a lot more than others of course. My favourite band at the moment is The Barenaked Ladies, although I used to absolutely love "They Might Be Giants". You can visit my highly outdated TMBG page if you so choose. Lately I've been listening to a little bit of everything Paul Simon, Jann Arden, Indigo Girls, The australian band Killing Heidi, and Alanis Morrisette Unplugged to name a few. Mostly I've been having fun downloading mp3's and burning my own cds with my new computer...fun stuff..

Movies

Well my favourite movie is Pretty in Pink..I can't explain why, Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy..it's your classic 80's movie...go rent it...Contact and the Breakfast Club are a close second...some other favourites of mine include Babe, Brain Candy, Empire Records, A League of Their Own, Strange Brew, Fools Rush In, The Saint, Regarding Henry, Simon Birch, and of course She-Ra and the Secret of the Sword (She-Ra and He-man find out they're brother and sister, how could you not love this movie).

Books

I'm usually reading some kind of book. I am a humongous Harry Potter fan...I cannot reccomend these books enough!!! One of my favourite authors is Roald Dahl- the author of such amazing books as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach...a very close second is Douglas Adams, you MUST read "the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" ...it's not a matter of choice! The chicken soup for the soul books are really good too and I can whole heartedly reccomend any book by Barbara Kingsolver, although my personal favourites are The Bean Trees and Animal Dreams. I discovered Bryce Courtenay when I was travelling across Australia. The Power of One is an excellent book by him and the sequel Tandia isn't too bad either. John Irving has a great few, my favourite being a Prayer for Owen Meany.

Everything Else

Well, if you're actually interested in some details about me, I'm a 23 year old Canadian who graduated from college last December and promptly got up and backpacked around New Zealand and Australia for 5.5 months. The best experience of my life. I'm a resident of Manitoba now, living in the heart of the Canadian Shield with hundreds of lakes in the area. My favourite things to do are...well, relax with friends...you can't beat hanging out with great friends watching as many movies as you possibly can in one evening. I love to camp and explore. I also love star gazing, ultimate frisbee, watching the sunset from a deserted beach, and just being around people I love :)
