We here at Broadcast News Networks are currently producing a documentary for MSNBC on Greek Life. For over 175 years fraternities and sororities have played a central, and important role in American college life. Unfortunately the majority of what the pu lic hears in the media about them is negative and highly sensational, usually involving shocking stories about hazing, death and secret rituals. The uneducated outsider is lead to believe that Greek life is one big party, but as we’ve done our research, and taken a closer look at the daily lives of Fraternity members, we’ve discovered a different picture… one that the public rarely sees: · Fraternity members are required to devote time to community service and abide by university rules as well as the standards set by their national chapter. If they step outside these boundaries they face the threat of probation or even expulsion. · In general, Fraternity members’ mean GPAs tend to be higher than those of the average non-Fraternity member at the same school, and in fact, they are required to maintain a set minimum GPA. · Most members of Fraternity boast the lasting brotherhood that they share. We here at BNN are producing an hour documentary for MSNBC. The purpose of our piece is to show what Greek life is truly like from the perspective of students belonging to a Fraternity on a modern university campus, and to do so in an honest and balanced manner. Who is BNNtv? During our almost fifteen years in business, we have become recognized as leaders in the production of reality based documentaries. We’ve won numerous awards including 2 Emmys, 4 Cine Golden Eagles and 5 Tellys for our solid journalism and honest and fair portrayals of the subjects that we’ve covered. And it is BNNtv’s record of reportorial integrity that has, time and again given us the opportunity to cover stories that set the standard for the industry. What we are asking for. In order to be able to provide a well-rounded and fair portrayal of Greek life we are asking your permission for us to spend several weeks speaking with brothers. Hey guys- The page is looking good. I've got an idea for a way for you to make some add'l money. Why not offer to place a link from your page to an alumni's web page in return for a donation to the fraternity. You probably wouldn't make a ton, but a few bucks he e and there would help. Example: I am a real estate agent in Northern Michigan, and I would love to let my Brothers know it. If you had a page of links to XAM web sites, I would be willing to make a donation of $50 to place a link to my site on it. Al you have to do is create and maintain the page, and get other alums to sign up. Then contact each of us once a year to renew the link. Make sure it is a donation, as I'm not sure how it would affect you legally and tax wise if you sold it. Let me know what you think. I hope to see you all at ski weekend if it comes through. The web-page is great! Being a XAM was one of the best things I ever did. The people who were members with me in 85-87 still get together today about 3 times a year from over 5 states. We have grown abit. Went from about 10-12 people who would party a l nite, to over 35 counting all the children and are usually ready for bed around 10pm. So take a word of advise and party today because you will be changing diapers in a few years!!!! GREAT PAGE!!!

In addition to the standard activities (skiing, drinking,"The Run", etc. will be a snowmobile trip to the Mackinac Bridge and back. There are 14 sleds prepared to go already and snowmobiles may be rented from the local dealers, so bring your visa and join the fun.
