WHO AM I!?!

Well hello again. My name is Matt McCauley but everyone I know calls me various names. I'm known as Auley, Chicago, Stumble, and Dad (thanks Will). I was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and grew up just outside of Chicago, Illinois. I left my "sweet home Chicago" for the University of Utah and the beautiful women of the Salt Lake Valley...okay, so I came here to try and corrupt a few Mormons...but they really are cute!

After college (which was May 4, 2001) I packed up five years worth of shit, and moved back to Michigan for a time to live with my brother Mike and my Yiayia (Greek for grandmother) in Harrison Township, which is near Mt. Clemens. After the job search fell through, I got a couple of part time jobs working as a valet and as a waiter/bartender in the downtown Mt. Clemens area. Until one day I woke up and realized two things: 1) I moved half-way across the country to be working in a bar, and 2) I really hate Michigan. So I got out of bed, sat down at the computer, and within the hour I had tickets for my flight back to Utah. Now I'm back in Utah and working for eBay in their Live Help division.

I am a Scorpio, having been born on October 27, 1978. I originally started this page back when it was "illegal" for me to drink in this country. Because of that, technically I was not supposed to know about alchohol and it's many wonders. That is the reason for going to college though, to learn about all sorts of new things. I have a great love for mixed drinks, though I also will pound beers with the guys.

As I said earlier, I went to the University of Utah and recieved a BA in English, with an emphasis in creative writing. I also completed some thirty hours (give or take) of secondary education courses, which I am now completing so that I can eventually becoming a high school english literature/creative writing teacher.

I am currently single, as I just had a major move half-way across the country...twice. I suppose you could say I am just beginning to look. I have a couple of little crushes out there, one that I've tried and failed and tried again with a number of times...what can I say, she's too good for me. The others are just random meet and greets from parties. Oh well, I'm still young and reasonably healthy, if you don't count the buddha I've been growing these last few years at college, so I have time to worry about my romantic future.

I have two older brothers, both of whom attended in East Lansing, Michigan. My brother Doug is an alumni of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He moved to Utah after graduation and was working for The Stag Lodge in Park City. He recetnly moved to Boston to join up with some friends. It was great having him around but I know that Utah will never be home to him just as Michigan will never be for me.

As for my brother Mike, he graduated MSU with a Food degree (something like Tom Hank's character working the dock in the 80's movie Mermaid), I think. If anybody can tell me what exactly his degree entails and what the job is, I'd appreciate it, cause it makes absolutely no sense to me! Mike and I have had our differences over the years, but all in all he's a good guy. A bit shy, sure, especially when put up against the rest of our psychotic family. Mike is also single, content hanging out with his other graduate fraternity brothers trying to pick up the new freshman. He's been working with Kroger's Food & Drug for the past few years, but is interested in branching out.

I also have a little sister, Meghan, who was attending the University of Utah. She took some time off and was working with the ticket agency for the Utah Symphoney & Orchestra. She is enjoying her job and doesn't currently have plans, that I'm aware of, to return to college anytime soon. For those of you who don't have little sisters, you're missing out! Some of my favorite memories were my older brothers and I giving Meghan shit! Naturally she deserved it...after all, she is the baby of the family. (Spoiled brat.) Honestly my sister and I are good friends and I fear she is beginning to grow out of the stage where I can play the protective older brother...now we're both just getting old.

As you see, this page has no pictures of family or friends . . . I'm working on that. Check back in a few weeks (months/years/decades) or so and you'll be bound to see a couple !

Well, that's about it from here. You can return to my home page by clicking HERE!

Here's to you as good as you are.
Here's to me as bad as I am.
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am.

Ahh, one last thing I almost forgot. To the Sigma Nu Fraternity house on the University of Utah campus, I have to say waz up to all of the active members and especially to my goot brothers of Autumn '97! And wish all the little rushees luck in the next couple of months...Dad'll be waiting for you!
