The
M.E.Days 2005 is the grandest activity of the UP Gears
and Pinions that mirrors the various facets of the Mechanical Engineering
Field. This event is a week-long celebration wherein members and students
alike partake in different activities that embody the true spirit of the
UP GP's. The whole concept of the week is premised in our desire not only
to encourage the participation and growth of its members but at the same
time provide enjoyment thereby reaffirming their pride to their organization.
The annual ME Days has proven to be a crowd drawer. This year it is expected
to surpass its own record by drawing not only students from the university
but also participants and spectators from around Metro Manila.
The 10th UP
Diliman Motorshow gives an opportunity for car enthusiasts to showcase
their automobiles and their skills in car maintenance and upgrading. It
also provides a venue for these car buffs to meet and challenge one another.
This year’s show will be BIGGER & BETTER because of the first
Miniature Car Show and Arcade Racing Competition.
This huge whole day happening will definitely draw in hundreds of car
enthusiasts from around the campus and all over Metro Manila.

It is an activity where different organizations from the college of engineering participate in the covering of worn out books from the engineering library. The organization is proud to have covered more than 10,000 books in the past decade.
The Inter-University Machine Design contest held annually at the UP Diliman College of Engineering aims to showcase the creativity of engineering students from different universities from all over Metro Manila. Participating teams are given the objective and requirements weeks before presentation to provide them with ample time to design and create their entries. Machines will compete against other machines and accomplish certain tasks after being judged by the distinguished members from the UP M.E. faculty. Hopefully, this event would give students not only the chance to apply their theoretical knowledge but also the opportunity to interact and share innovative ideas with other students.

Alumni Homecoming
The UP Gears and Pinions has been in existence since 1955. Throughout the years, the organization has produced respected and highly competent professionals in their chosen fields. In celebration of the organization’s commitment to excellence and camaraderie, the UP Gears and Pinions will be having the 50th UP Gears and Pinions Alumni Homecoming. This is a gathering of more than 500 alumni in commemoration of the 50 years of legacy of the organization at the UP Bahay ng Alumni. As part of the celebration, there will be a launching of the UP Gears and Pinions Alumni Association. Hopefully, this event will establish a stronger connection between the alumni and the present members.
