Dacia Maraini, one of the most celebrated Italian
writers and winner of many prestigious literary prizes such as
the Premio Strega, visited the U.T. campus from November 17 to
November 22, 1999.
She is the author of ten novels,
and has also written poetry, plays, and screenplays.

Two events focused on Maraini's 1990 novel, La
lunga vita di Marianna Ucrìa ("The Silent Duchess"),
an international best seller:
